HARC KWIK-FIT GRAND PRIX CLASSIC Zandvoort, Holland September 10th & 11th 2005
Ouch, that hurt!!
Results Sunday 11th - No 50 Elstrop LeMans 1147cc 17th overall (24 starters) 1st in Class Fastest lap 2:26.172
Sunday 11th - No 52 Elstrop Spit MkIII 1300cc 16th overall Fastest lap 2:25.523
An unfortunate incident in practice with a Porsche, for an invitation race with the Triumph & GTM Masters race, left the ADU1B with drivers side bonnet, chassis, door & rear wing damage. Valiant efforts by members of the JIGSAW team, fellow competitors and Triumph enthusiasts in Holland meant that we were able to source some spare parts, pull out the bonnet sufficiently, and repair her so that she could compete in the Equipe GTS race. This proved to well worth the effort with a Colin able to have a thrilling race with his wife in her Spitfire MkIII, Helen eventually piping Colin to the winning post. But most importantly a good time was had by all.
